So after posting about my fall dinner party the other day, I had so many likes, comments and shares on Facebook! Thank you to everyone who did! Some of the feedback I received were how to make all those delicious foods and cocktails, so this post will be all about the recipes. Â I finally figured out how to make a hyperlink, thanks to a wonderful article supplied by one of my closest friends, Joanna!
Appetizers
Raspberry Brie Tartlets
These are pretty easy to make. My boyfriend’s mom, Mary, who is one of the best cooks in the whole wide world, has made these countless times for get-togethers at her house. I found a recipe on Pinterest for these and can be found here. She has never added chopped walnuts on top, but after tasting one, she loved the addition!
Stuffed Mushrooms
I have made these stuffed mushrooms quite a few times already. They are time consuming but totally worth it! They are meatless and made with Stove Top dressing mix along with a few seasonings, cheese and cream cheese. The recipe for these delectable bites can be found here.
Merlot Meatballs
I made these on the day of the party in the crockpot. I always use frozen turkey meatballs made by Cooked Perfect which can be found in the frozen food aisle at your local grocery store. They make an easy and fast addition to your meatball recipe! These particular meatballs require Merlot wine and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a recipe made with wine??
The Charcuterie Board
According to one of my co-workers, Basia, no party or dinner party for that matter is complete without a charcuterie board!  She swears by them!  So I decided I was going to make one this time. The cutting board is made of acacia wood and was found on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond! It is perfect for displaying all the meats, cheeses, fruit and crackers! I used several different types of cheese – Colby jack, sharp cheddar, tarragon ginger Monterrey jack, smoked Gouda and fontina. Now, the fontina cheese I had paired with honey. There is a wine and tapas bar restaurant in my area called Spuntinos, that serves this as one of their appetizers . It is delicious and was a huge hit at the party! I also included hard salami, soppressata meat, crackers and of course, several mustards. You can pretty much pick and choose your own items, it’s to whatever your heart desires.
Dessert
For dessert I made homemade apple crisp, which I thought was perfect for the chilly fall evening.
Apple Crisp
The apples melted in your mouth and mixed with the oatmeal and brown sugar, it was heavenly! It was super easy to make and can be made ahead of time, just refrigerate until ready to bake. I served it with vanilla ice cream and it was the perfect combination!  I will definitely be serving this again!
The Grand Finale – Â The Cocktails!
I had recently been to The Sugar Factory in the Meatpacking District of New York City for Joanna’s 30th birthday and had one of the best martinis of my life – Chocolate Peanut Butter! I knew that I had to serve this cocktail at my dinner party.  I also wanted to serve a more fall themed cocktail and decided on a Pumpkin Spice martini as well.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Martini
I found a pretty easy recipe from DeKuyper.  The recipe called for a peanut butter cup to serve as a garnish, but I thought that a creamy peanut butter rim sounded better!
Pumpkin Spice Martini
For this one, I didn’t necessarily follow a recipe. Â To make a long story short, I wasn’t able to buy pumpkin pie flavored vodka and so pumpkin spice liqueur was used. In a blender simply mix the liqueur, Rumchata, and Pinnacle vodka. I rimmed the glasses with cinnamon sugar and topped each cocktail with a dash of pumpkin spice.
I hope that you all enjoy these recipes! Now that I know how to use hyperlinks, I’ll be able to include them in my posts from now on!
XOXO,
Katie
