Every year, once Easter has come, I feel as though spring has finally arrived. And this year for Easter, it was a gorgeous day! The sun was shining most of the day and it was a beautiful 80 degrees. My mom and I were also off for this holiday since it fell on our weekend off. I would have liked to host an Easter brunch but with my grandma in a nursing home now, it was easier to have the brunch at my mom’s house. But this did not stop me from decorating and setting our Easter table.
I had a few decorations from last year but ended up purchasing a few more. I recently bought a console table for a spot at the bottom of my stairs and needed some decor items for it. Of course I checked out what Christmas Tree Shops, Michaels and Kirklands had to offer this year. As everyone can tell from my previous posts, those are my go-to stores along with Kohl’s.
I decorated the coffee table with a new lantern I had found on clearance at Christmas Tree Shops that was decorated with a floral and egg wreath and LED candle. It definitely has a worn look to it that I will have to touch up at some point. But for this year, it did its job.
The tv stand I decorated with a burlap bunny banner, a floral egg urn, a plaque and a burlap bunny. I’m not a big fan of a lot of egg and bunny decorations which pretty much overtakes Easter decor, but I thought these were a little bit more subtle and not gaudy.
The new console table I got on sale at Kirklands and I was also able to apply a coupon, which scored extra points in my book! The lamp I purchased at HomeGoods at a decent price and the mercury glass base works really well in the living room. While at Christmas Tree Shops, I fell in love with the carrot tree. The delicate cloth carrots as ornaments for the tree added that extra height needed for the table.
The coat closet door I hung a bunny shaped wreath that actually has tiny LED bulbs wired throughout that can be lit up. But I think the wreath looks great without them turned on! I also placed a plush door hanger on the knob to add that extra flair.
Now for my pride and joy: the Easter tablescape. As most of you know, I love to set my dining room table for any occasion and this was the perfect spring setting. I used an ivory floral printed table cloth and napkins and pastel green floral printed placemats for the linens. I used gold chargers and new napkin rings I purchased on sale from Bed, Bath and Beyond and I used an additional twenty percent off coupon on each napkin holder. I love a good deal! The centerpiece I also purchased on sale at Kirklands. The ivory, pastel green, pink and gold color scheme really gives that spring feel which is what I wanted to accomplish.
I was quite surprised at how well the centerpiece and the napkin rings matched as well.
The kitchen island I also decorated with a little bit of Easter. I placed a white bunny statue in a tray I had used last year along with a faux floral bouquet and lantern. I thought the tray came out really nice and added a classy touch to my Easter decorations.
I didn’t place a tablecloth on the island this time around, I felt as though it didn’t need it . However, I still set three place settings anyways. The placemats and napkins I purchased at Christmas Tree Shops and the burlap bunny ear napkin rings were also bought from there as well. I like the island to have a more casual feel. The island is used for everyday use and our dining room table is for more formal or special occasions.
Most of these decorations are packed away after the holiday, but it’s nice to know that spring has finally arrived!
