Waffle boards have become pretty popular in the last year or so and of course I jumped on that bandwagon. These boards are so easy to put together, you pretty much just put all the toppings and waffles on one board. It’s a great activity to do with children as well. They can help make the waffles and assemble it. For my board, I wanted to do a Valentine’s theme since Valentine’s Day is coming up in a few days.
What you’ll need to make your own waffle board:
- round board
- mini waffle maker
- small tidbit bowls or ramekins
- waffle mix
- toppings – fruit, nuts, chocolate chips, syrup, whipped cream
For my waffle board, I was able to make 10 waffles. I used Kodiak Cakes Protein Pancake and Waffle mix which I found at my local ShopRite. It can be time consuming to make these since you can only make 1 waffle at a time, so keep your waffles warm on a cookie sheet in the oven.
Once all the waffles are done, start assembling your board. Place small bowls to hold syrup and whipped cream. Add fruit to your board, such as strawberries and blueberries or other fruits you think would pair well with waffles. I added pecans and walnuts to my board along with peanut butter, white chocolate and milk chocolate chips.
What I love about these waffle boards is you can customize your board to whatever holiday, celebration or just because. Mini waffle makers come in all different fun shapes such as pumpkins, snowflakes and hearts like what I used for this board. And they’re inexpensive too!
This board is perfect to surprise your valentine with breakfast in bed. The handles on this board make it easy to transport, just supply plates, festive napkins, utensils and your good to go!
Make the waffle board, trust me. So buy a mini waffle maker, grab a tray, buy some fruit and waffle mix and you’ve got your self a board. Hope this finds you inspiration!
