When one of my best friend’s told me she was pregnant with her first baby, I was over the moon. My friend and her husband had spent several years trying to conceive through IVF, praying that God would give them the baby they so badly wanted. After a few failed attempts, she was finally expecting. My friend wanted to be a mom so badly, probably more so than anyone I have known. And when she told me the day after my wedding in 2018, I was thrilled. I was so happy for her, she was finally going to become the mom she was meant to be.

At her gender reveal party, we all found out it was going to be a girl! A beautiful little princess we had been waiting for, for a long time. When she approached me soon after about helping her plan the baby shower, I was happy to help! She told me she wanted it to be tea party themed and was planning on having the shower at a tea house in Westfield, the Mulberry House.

Leading up to the party, I shopped mostly at Michaels and used Etsy for the party printables. My friend had already purchased beautiful white frames from Hobby Lobby she wanted the printables displayed in, so I used those for the party. I used some other items I already had as well.

When everyone walked into the room, I had an easel displayed with a beautiful floral garland wrapped around it and baby balloons attached. I’ve used the easel several times before and have also had people borrow the easel because it’s so versatile.

I displayed a banner on the main wall, which read “A Baby is Brewing”, the perfect banner for a tea party baby shower. I printed the tea cup banner off Etsy from DesignedbyMaria. The letter banner I had found off Pinterest for free.

I had a welcome table set up where people could sign the guest book and start playing two games – Don’t Say Baby and Guess How Many Candies before finding a seat. The printables I bought on Etsy were from SwankyDesignCo, an awesome seller. I found the design to be beautiful, girly and perfect for the tea party.

For the table centerpieces, my friend wanted bouquets of white and pink flowers coupled with baby’s breath and a few greens. I purchased the flowers from my local ShopRite and assembled the bouquets myself. I used mason jars from Walmart, but you can also find them on Amazon. Each jar was decorated with burlap ribbon and mini paper flowers. They were beautiful! The pink lace table runners I ordered from Amazon. They were super cheap too, around $8 a runner and you could definitely reuse these for another party.

My friend had also wanted to have a diaper raffle with a pretty sweet prize. So at the gift table, I displayed the diaper raffle ticket drop-off. The prize was a beverage dispenser that was filled with everything you need to make my friend’s famous red sangria. One of her husband’s family members won the prize.

After each guest found a seat and dropped off their gifts at the gift table, we had a headband making station for everyone to make a headband for the upcoming arrival. My friend’s sister-in-law had bought all the headbands, separated them into newborn stages and prepped the attachments ahead of time. Baby girl definitely had quite a few headbands to adorn once she was born!

I set up a mimosa bar or mom-osa bar as my friend called it. I wrote a separate blog post about this that you can find here. Her guests were able to make mimosas with orange, mango and peach juices and of course, champagne!

And you can’t forget about the cake. The cake was absolutely stunning. My friend designed it and she did a great job! I set the cake table up with a bouquet of flowers and a framed ultrasound picture. I thought it added a little sentiment to the afternoon.

One thing my friend really wanted was the word BABY spelled out in big letter balloons. So between the cake and mimosa bar tables, we set them up and here is a photo of my friend and her husband, the anxiously awaiting parents-to-be!

And about six weeks later, our little princess, Liliana Margaret was born. This is my husband and I visiting after she was home for a week:

I’ve listed a few of the items I’ve used for this party, so check out the links below
