I love rustic anything and I knew that I wanted our wedding to be just that. We had looked at three venues with my parents and settled on the Grand Cascades Lodge in Hardyston, NJ. It turned into a whole wedding weekend since the place is about 35-40 minutes from our house, not to mention an hour from my parents. It is this huge resort and country club that people were able to spend the night at and it’s all connected so you never had to walk outside in the July heat to get to the wedding area. Since I knew we would have some guests staying over night, I decided I was going to make welcome bags for the hotel. They are pretty simple to put together and here are a few of easy steps to complete one:

Pick a vessel for your items. I chose a simple brown gift bag because I felt it added to the rustic feel of our wedding. The tissue paper coincided with our wedding color scheme – pink and gold and the tag I bought off Etsy as a printable template. I tied the tag with baker’s twine I bought from Michaels.

Next, you need some munchies. Your guests will be drinking and partying the night away and gifting them with a few savory and sweet snacks will cure the late night munchies. I went to BJ’s Wholesale Club and bought a few Oreo and SunChip snack packs in bulk and placed one of each in the welcome bag along with a bottle of water.

Another item I included in the welcome bag was a door hanger. I searched high and low on Pinterest for a free printable since this is something that a lot of people include in their bags and I found this one from Jessica Ricco. I just downloaded the template and printed it on cardstock, cut it out and voila! A simple do not disturb sign!

Next I included a hangover kit. Inside a cookie treat bag I placed a pack of gum, travel size Aleve, a couple of bandaids and a travel size roll of Tums to cure that wedding hangover. I found this super cute tag on Etsy that was perfect for the kit.

And lastly, I included a wedding day itinerary. I found this on Zazzle.com the same website I used for all my wedding stationary and I loved it. It is completely customizable to your special day needs which I loved about this. It outlined the entire evening and with a little special note it was the perfect final detail to our welcome bags.

Wedding welcome bags can really make your hotel guests feel extra special. They have travelled from near and far to celebrate this exciting time in both of your lives, gifting them with a little something to show that you are grateful they have come to celebrate with you, just adds that extra detail.

xoxo
