The holidays are my favorite time of the year. Actually, pretty much from September through January is my favorite time of the year. You have Halloween and the fall and it slides right into Thanksgiving and Christmas. I extended it to January because that’s my birthday month. And I love my birthday 🙂
When decorating for the holidays, I believe it starts with the outside. When people drive by or come over for a get-together, this is the first thing they’re gonna see. Your outside decorations. So for me, it starts with the porch.
This black iron bench my parents gave us back over the summer. It was a glossy black color and my dad spray-painted it matte black for us. I love it! To give that cozy feel, I draped a red blanket and added this “Noel” pillow for the holiday season.
Above the bench I hung a ‘Merry & Bright’ wall plaque with a metal star garland below it. I found these awesome siding hooks that won’t damage your house like nails would and hung both with those.
I love these two lanterns that I displayed on either side of our front door. The light from both is just so inviting.
The ‘Home for the Holidays’ coir mat layered with the black and white checkered rug ties the porch all together. This floral swag is beautiful. I thought it would be different than hanging a traditional wreath on our front door.
With this year being so different than all the rest, it’s important to still continue all your holiday traditions throughout the season. The holidays bring smiles to our faces, warmth in our hearts and an overall happiness. So do yourself and favor and don’t skimp out!
